Le sud is the south block of our vineyard, it is southwest facing and at the 400’ elevation. The slightly lower site provides earlier ripening and a darker fruit character. The combination of intense flavors that only old vines can offer, along with meticulous growing practices allow us to age this wine in 100% new oak. Only the finest French barrels are chosen from the Burgundy region of France. Cellar for at least three years and this wine ages beautifully for a decade or more. Our crown jewel.
Approximately 100 cases produced.
Le nord is the north block and is at the 500’ elevation. We believe we have the perfect combination of Jory soil, Pommard clone, and a microclimate that allows for consistent ripening. This Pinot Noir is spectacular in its youth, yet will cellar 8 years or more, each year gaining complexity. Typical of red fruit characteristics layered with cinnamon and clove and an undertone of forest floor and truffle. Le nord is aged in 25% new French oak, allowing a pure expression of the fruit with less influence from the barrel.
Approximately 200 cases produced. We recommend enjoying this wine after at least one year and up to 8-10 years.
We carefully select premium grapes from nearby vineyards that provide us with the opportunity to make an extraordinary Pinot Noir at an everyday price. We promise to deliver beautiful fruit character, great balance and ageability that best represents the beauty of Oregon Pinot Noir. This wine can also be found on select restaurant wine lists.
Our first Port was made in 2002 and introduced after 5 years in barrel. We chose the "Solera" style, providing an ongoing blend that offers a depth and complexity not found in a single vintage Port. The residual sugar is just 6%, making it the perfect pairing for a cheese course as well as your favorite chocolate. We feel honored that our Port was recently chosen by the James Beard House in New York to pair with their chocolate dessert course. 20% alcohol.
Will age indefinitely!
From our very beginning, we liked the idea of drawing the first pressing from each bin of fermented wine and aging it in its own barrel. We know that when press wine is treated with great care, it can be extraordinary. The most intense flavors of a grape are next to the skin and gentle pressing will draw a juice that is slightly darker and more intense in flavor. Each year we make a half barrel and have appropriately named it after the French phrase meaning "Joy of Life".
Will age gracefully for 8-10 years.
